| The Serotonin
Club is an international association
for
biomedical scientists who are interested in any aspect of research on
serotonin
(5-hydroxytryptamine). It was founded in 1987 and currently
has
a membership of over 600 persons worldwide. Members receive a regular
newsletter with
information
on scientific meetings, news of members and any other matters of
interest
to those working on serotonin.
The Club sponsors a satellite meeting to the International Congress of Pharmacology (IUPHAR) Congress every 4 years and occasional other meetings. It also gives financial support to assist young scientists to attend these meetings. The Club also hosts annual lectures and dinners which are held in association with the American Society for Neuroscience meeting and one of the meetings of the British Pharmacological Society (usually the Winter meeting). |
